Closet-to-Elevator Conversion

A spare closet became a private elevator shaft — installed on schedule while the owners were away, even when that meant our crew working through the night to make it happen.

The Challenge

Mrs. Nelson wanted to keep living in the condo she loves, but the stairs were becoming a safety concern. Rather than a major addition, she chose to convert an existing closet into an elevator shaft — a tighter footprint that meant precision mattered. To make it work, the installation needed to happen while she and her husband weren't in residence, on a schedule they could count on.

The Solution

We converted the closet into a fully code-compliant shaft and installed a new American Crescent elevator, giving her direct, independent access between floors. To hit the promised completion date with the owners away, our crew worked late into the night on multiple occasions rather than let the schedule slip.

The Outcome

Mrs. Nelson has full, independent floor-to-floor access in the home she wanted to stay in — delivered exactly on the timeline she was promised, with zero disruption to her routine since she wasn't even in town for it.
